Service 02Fade it.
Fade it.
Don't finish it.
If your artist has already sketched the cover-up, you do not need full removal. Two to four sessions lightens the old piece enough to give them a clean canvas — faster and cheaper than taking it to zero.

How it differs
Removal versus fading.
| Fade for cover-up | Full removal | |
|---|---|---|
| Sessions | 2–4 | 6–12 |
| Goal | Enough lightening for new ink to read | As close to clear skin as biology allows |
| Spacing | 6–8 weeks | 6–8 weeks |
| Bring | Your artist's design or a description | Nothing |
| From | $180 / session | $200 / session |
Placeholder figures. Bring your artist into the conversation early — how much fading you need depends entirely on what is going over the top.
Working with your artist
Three things we will ask.
01
What is going over it
A dark, dense design needs less fading than fine linework or anything with light colour in it.
02
When you are booked in
Leave at least eight weeks between your last laser session and the new tattoo so the skin is fully settled.
03
Whether it has been lasered before
Previously treated ink behaves differently. Tell us who did it and roughly how many sessions.
Send the old tattoo and the new design.
We will tell you how many fading sessions your artist actually needs.
